Frequently Asked Questions

The practice is still taking shape, so some answers are still being finalized. Here’s where things stand today.

Who can become a patient?

Port Primary Care & Wellness will provide care for adults age 18 and older.

Is Port Primary Care & Wellness a traditional primary care practice?

Not exactly.

The practice is being designed as a hybrid model combining elements of traditional primary care and concierge-style medicine. The goal is to provide more personalized care, greater continuity with your provider, and more transparent access to services.

Will I have to pay a monthly membership fee?

The final membership and payment structure is still being developed.

Our goal is to create a flexible model that allows patients to access personalized care without automatically requiring the type of significant monthly fee commonly associated with traditional concierge medicine.

Complete pricing and membership details will be announced prior to opening.

Does the practice accept insurance?

Insurance and billing details are currently being finalized and will be shared before the practice opens.

Depending on the final model, some services may be offered on a transparent direct-pay basis rather than billed through insurance.

Should I still have health insurance?

Yes.

Even when primary care services are paid for directly, health insurance can remain important for unexpected medical expenses and services outside of the practice, including emergency care, hospitalization, specialists, imaging, surgery, and other higher-cost medical needs.

Will I see Sara at every visit?

Continuity of care is one of the foundations of Port Primary Care & Wellness.

The practice is intentionally designed so patients can build an ongoing relationship with the same provider rather than seeing someone different at every appointment.

What types of appointments will be available?

Services are expected to include routine physicals, preventive care, sick visits, chronic condition management, women’s health support, functional medicine consultations, IV infusions, and select wellness services.

A complete list will be available prior to opening.

Will you offer menopause and perimenopause care?

Yes. Supporting women through perimenopause and menopause will be one area of focus within the practice.

Sara is currently completing additional advanced education focused on menopause care.

What is functional medicine?

Functional medicine looks at the broader factors that may contribute to a person’s health rather than focusing solely on an individual symptom.

Depending on your concerns, this may include evaluating factors such as nutrition, sleep, stress, lifestyle, health history, and other influences to help develop an individualized care plan.

Do I have to be a primary care patient to use wellness services?

Eligibility for individual wellness services is still being determined. More information will be available as the practice gets closer to opening.
